grindledore, dumblewald- don't say you didn't see it coming.

if you re-read DH you'll see it in the subtext really quickly; dumbledore and grindlewald had such a passionate friendship, one that blossomed so rapidly. so intelligent, so charming both of them. i like to think dumbly was the reason for the merry-faced G we saw in the photograph :)

in fact you you can almost see the slightest hint of infatuation on dumbledore's part (all the late night letters exchanged huh huh huh). and it kind of explains why dumbledore was so dumb oblivious to G's flaws, it explains why he got carried away the way he did. can't say i'm anything but pleased, the pieces all fit! the quirkiness, the brightly coloured suits (plum), elphias doge, nicholas flamel (pity he was married) and the lack of mention of a female companion (although maybe people usually don't picture old intelligent GRANDfatherly figures sexually). it's a bit strange thinking about dumbledore being anything but wholesome and mentor-like; but then again we found out eventually that he had his failings too and was a Crafty Old Manipulator.
